LOGOS: My Second Digital Remix

I created two versions of this image; the "tame" version is posted here. This digital remix illustrates the sexualization of golf, through its language. Being traditionally a man's game (as illustrated in Digital Remix I—the "God-given" right to play golf), the discourse of the golf course is laden with sexual innuendo, from the common admonitions for the putt left short, "You've got to get it up to get it in," and to the golfer with the bad slice, "Quit messing around in the bush." The sexual jargon expands to encompass both shots and equipment: balls; strokes; shafts both stiff and flexible; threesomes; and foursomes. The text in the picture reflects a direct quote, a comment made to me during a round by a "gentleman" my teen-aged son and I had been paired with—someone we had never met before, obviously inspired by my ability to drive the ball off the tee. I had considered titling this remix, Spread Eagle.
